It is always interesting to follow the design process on a project. Often we meet clients with preconceived ideas of what their project should ultimately look like. Their design ideas come from friends, neighbors and lifetime experiences. These concepts are often limited to the status quo, which, in our geographic area, means free-form vinyl pools with a pile-of-rocks waterfeature.

In an unusual twist, our initial consultation with this client involved a Russian translator. The homeowners had lived in several countries, and English was not their first language. Our final design evolved with a great deal of input from our well-travelled clients.

The end result incorporated classic design elements with a modern twist using state-of-the-art energy efficiency and construction techniques.
