Several techniques were applied to finish all the pond edges, creating various visual and structural effects. The “lawn to the edge” design was accomplished with large, engineered, interlocking retaining wall block, while other areas were finished with weatherworn boulders and/or plantings. In one end of the middle pond, a large mass of lotus can be enjoyed from a whimsical, meandering wooden boardwalk.
