As of Sept. 2, the U.S. Department of State has rescinded its interview waiver option for H-2 visa applicants and now requires all interviews to be conducted in person.

All H-2 applicants, including those with prior visas, must appear at a consular section worldwide. The policy change applies to those who began their application process on or after August 28.
In response, the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance plans to send a letter to the State Department requesting the reinstatement of interview waivers for H-2B workers, citing concerns the change could cause backlogs and delays.
