The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance offers several scholarships and has made some changes to simplify application.
First, all scholarships share the same deadline. Forms for this year’s awards must be submitted by Monday, May 4, 2026.
Additionally, a new system allows members to apply for up to four applications with the same form. The following scholarships are being offered:
Vance Gillette Scholarship — Honoring the legacy of industry leader and mentor Vance Gillette, this scholarship provides $2,500 to individuals who want to take their first GENESIS® course in pool construction, design, or engineering.
Greg Garrett Scholarship — Established in memory of renowned industry expert Greg Garrett, this scholarship offers $5,000 to professionals who are passionate about advancing their education in pool design, construction, and renovation.
Dr. R. Neil Lowry Grant — This $5,000 grant honors a public health official or department who has made an outstanding contribution to public health and the safe use of pools, spas, and waterparks through education, safety, or technical programs.
Fontaine Piper Scholarship — This scholarship celebrates Fontaine’s lifelong commitment to supporting future leaders. Scholarship recipients receive $2,000 to use towards attending the PHTA CPO Instructor Assessment School.
WAVE Young Professionals Scholarship — Open to pool and hot tub professionals under 40, this scholarship covers the cost of one PHTA or GENESIS® course.
PHTA Board Scholarship — Open to PHTA certified individuals and their families, this scholarship provides $5,000 to up to three students pursuing undergraduate or graduate education. Payment is submitted directly to the college or university.
