Fire-burning hot tubs originated in the Netherlands, but are beginning to gain some traction in the United States. Water in the tub gets heated through flowing in and out of the coils around a small fire pit. They're different from the hot tubs and spas we consider the norm today, giving them a sort of novelty appeal.
Alfi Brand, the maker of the above FireHotTub, loaned one of its tubs to vegan bloggers Mr. & Mrs. Vegan as the "bowl" for making the largest bowl of vegan ramen noodles. The experiment, which didn't quite go according to plan, involved tossing pounds of noodles, miso, and veggies to cook inside the portable outdoor fire-burning tub.
