HomeAdvisor, Angie’s List, Task Rabbit and now Google.
The search engine giant’s new lead-generation platform for home service professionals is expected to be available in 30 cities across the country by the beginning of the year.

It’s called Local Services by Google.
When people search on Google for, say, a locksmith or plumber, ads for those services will appear at the top of the search results page. Google assures consumers that these businesses are verified and background checked.
For service providers, this is another way to connect with customers actively seeking their services.
What makes Google’s approach to pairing customers with home pros different than other lead-gen platforms is its voice-search functionality. Using Google Assistant, homeowners can say something like “Hey, Google, find me a pool service professional,” and Google will pull up a list of certified providers.
Currently, services provided through Local Services include electricians, locksmiths, plumbers, HVAC and garage door pros. Businesses applying to participate in the program can select an “other” category, so presumably pool service pros could be eligible, too.
