Virginia Beach, Va.-based Pool Scouts has signed its first franchisees.

The very first location of the pool cleaning and maintenance business opened Aug. 1 in Raleigh, N.C., under the management of Tiffiny Consoli. “We’re very happy to have her as our pioneer franchisee,” said Chris Bushey, director of operations at Pool Scouts. “We’re anticipating that she’ll do great things in that Raleigh market.”

Franchisees can own up to three territories. Consoli also has a development plan for a second territory in Raleigh and another in Wilmington, N.C., Bushey said.

The franchiser also signed with Tom Allred, who purchased three territories in Dallas. The first of those is scheduled to open Sept. 15, 2016.

Pool Scouts has no other franchise openings confirmed; however, it is putting its focus on Southern states as well as the West Coast, specifically Texas, Florida, California and Arizona, Bushey said.

He said Pool Scouts plans to distinguish itself from smaller companies by showing increased professionalism, with practices such as informing customers when service crews are on their way, when they have completed the job, and what they’ve put into the pool. “We believe [this] will provide a higher level of service to the end customer,” Bushey said.
