Hasa Inc.,a pool and spa chemical maker based in Santa Clarita, Calif., has added a second manufacturing facility in Texas, bringing the total to six plants across four states. The firm manufactures and packages bleach and acid, which are delivered in bottles or drums. Empty containers are returned, washed and refilled, a process that requires maintaining a delivery service to coordinate the return of the containers. The new 75,000-square-foot plant, located in Bryan, Texas, was purchased to offer greater manufacturing capacity to serve its growing Texas market, according to Hasa CEO Mark Wilson. “Coming into a calcium hypochlorite market, we had no illusions as to how difficult it might be to establish our filtered bleach as a viable product,” Wilson says. “The very nature of our product dictates that we be logistically sound and provide excellent customer service. Bryan addresses both of these needs.”
