Babble on

In the original design, the waterfeature was just a small waterfall at the edge of the pool — but when his crew began constructing it, Inzerillo realized it had much more potential. “It took on a life of its own,” he says. “When we saw how large the grade change was, we embellished it with a long river that flows through the patio space.”

The end result was a multi-tiered waterfall that spills down the grade and into the pool. The crew selected rocks of various sizes and shapes to create a naturalistic look for the feature.

By imitating nature, the design adds another bonus to the experience of lying out on the deck: The peaceful sound of gently flowing water. “When you’re sitting next to the fireplace, you can really appreciate that babbling brook effect,” Inzerillo says.
