Spazazz’s new Spa Bombzz takes relaxation to the next level. The manufacturer has cracked the code to a bath bomb formula that won’t hurt the pipes and other working parts of a hot tub. Made with the same ingredients used in Spazazz’s spa bath salts, the bombs are compressed to add a bit of fizz while releasing a therapeutic aroma.
“It has four times the aroma [compared with] some of the other spa bombs out there and is more powerful than our spa crystals,” says Angie Pettro, the company’s president.
Finding the right balance of fizz that would safely run through a hot tub was tricky business. Pettro says the firm tried other drugstore bath bombs to see what happens with products designed for the bath. The result was a clogged filter. She then worked closely with a chemist — testing for more than six months — to create a formula that she says won’t damage the hot tub and can filter through with no extra cleaning required.
Spa Bombzz began shipping at the end of January.
