Zodiac Pool Systems Inc. has introduced the industry’s first variable-speed pump not intended for Internet resale. The VS PlusHP pump is being released under the Zodiac Jandy Pro Series brand. It is the first pump sold under Zodiac’s Trade Series Exclusive policy, which means it is not for Internet resale. The policy includes dealer rebates for brick-and-mortar stores and service professionals. Zodiac intends to offer further exclusivity by having dealers “opted-in” by local Zodiac sales representatives.
Zodiac said its VS PlusHP was designed based on feedback from pool professionals. It features an auxiliary circuit, which eliminates the need for dual or separate time clocks to control devices such as booster pumps or salt chlorine generators. The 2.7- horsepower motor uses a 15-amp circuit and meets the National Electrical Code. VS PlusHP pumps work with in-floor cleaning systems, spa-jet boosters and solar energy heating systems. The pump comes with or without a JEP-R digital pump controller.
