The ability to access your pool from your smartphone is going to be in huge demand. Manufacturers are making advances in their control packages to help — the platforms have been improved so that you can access pools and spas from iPads, iPhones and Android devices. Just about everybody’s improving in that area. They’ve cleaned up the screen displays for the handhelds, making it very intuitive.
But the other thing is everybody’s pricing has become more competitive, so you don’t need a million-dollar home just to have a set of controls for remotely accessing your pool.
I’m expecting to sell a bunch of those systems by upgrading people who have existing controls and putting them in touch with their pools remotely. I have a lot of customers with older controls who would welcome an upgrade, and if I can do this for under $1,000, that’s a home run.
