Zodiac Pool Systems is launching a new training program designed to help pool and spa professionals get the education they need.
The delivery of the Vista, Calif.-based company’s program is fourfold: Technical Service Tools, Zodiac's in-person training seminars; webinars; on-demand training videos; and an online learning system.
“We don’t pretend to know exactly how everybody should be trained or wants to be trained, and so we want to provide pool and spa professionals the choice on how [they] will educate themselves,” said Scott Ferguson, director of marketing – parts, accessories and training.
The new training system also allows attendees – service techs, dealers, builders and others – to skip the training for subjects they are already proficient in, while choosing the topics they need to learn. Attendees also earn APSP credit. The two-day in-person training is an overview of Zodiac equipment, with a curriculum focused on regionally popular products.
While the in-person seminars are set for the offseason, the other training modules were developed as tools that could be used quickly when time is tight during the season, Ferguson said. The videos are 90 to 120 seconds long; webinars last half an hour or an hour.
Two webinars were held at the beginning part of the season and were well attended.
“They have been very popular and successful so far,” Ferguson said.
