LATE BREAKING: Cody Pools, the contractor who has ranked no. 1 on the PSN Top 50 Builders list for the last five years, is expanding into Florida.

The Georgetown, Texas-based company has purchased Challenger Pools, a 30-year-old firm based in Tampa, Fla. Challenger, which has reportedly built 10,000 pools in its history, will retain its original name. The company’s founder, Bruce Esquinaldo, and his staff will continue to manage the location.

“Acquiring Challenger Pools was a strategic and logical next step to further strengthen and expand our operations as the no. 1 Pool Builder in the Nation,” said Cody Pools PresidentCEO, Mike Church. “Florida is a very attractive market, and Challenger Pools has a long and established history of successfully building and renovating pools while building a solid reputation as a trusted pool builder. Their experienced design and construction staff, construction standards, and business model align ideally with ours.”

Cody, which was founded in 1994, has 10 locations serving the Austin, San Antonio and Houston metro areas. It reports sales revenues of more than $57 million in 2017.
