After a 16-year tenure at Unicel, manufacturer of pool filter replacement cartridges, Scott Gleason has taken the position of VP of business development at Pleatco,which produces pool and spa filtration products.
Gleason's new role will put him among the Glen Cove, N.Y.-manufacturer’s top leadership, reporting directly to Pleatco CEO Howard Smith.
Gleason said the decision to leave his post as national sales manager for Chatsworth, Calif.-based Unicel was not an easy one.
“It’s been a pretty emotional transition,” he said, adding that he parted with Unicel on positive terms.
Pleatco expects Gleason to play an important role in its future growth strategy, by helping develop and implement business plans.
“Not only will he bring a wealth of experience to our sales team, but [he will] also be a great ambassador for our brand as we concentrate our expansion both domestically and internationally,” Smith said. “We recognize Scott’s proven track record of success and look forward to having him represent Pleatco.”
