Watershape University, the education organization begun by former Genesis Education Director David Peterson and Deputy Education Director Bill Drakeley, has announced its inaugural quarter of courses and made an acquisition.

Earlier this month, the organization announced its purchase of the pool/spa design website WaterShapes to serve as its media vehicle. The outlet’s founder Jim McCloskey will remain as editor-in-chief.

The first course, "Essential Business Workshop for Contractors," will take place March 1-2, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. This occurs in concert with Carecraft's spring meeting in Marco Island, Fla.

WU will offer two courses in concert with the Western Pool and Spa Show in Long Beach, Calif. Essential Cost Estimating Workshop takes place March 12, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. at a remote venue. Two seminars will take place at the show at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center:
"Concrete Crack Prevention & Repair" and "Transitioning from Service to Construction."

Two courses will be offered in concert with the Master Pools Guild's spring meeting in Birmingham, Ala. Membership in the Guild is not required. "Introduction to Site Evaluations & Surveying," takes place March 16 from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. "Reinforced Concrete Watershapes" takes place March 17. Those who register before Dec. 31 receive a $100 coupon for future purchases.
