A scholarship in honor of industry icon Vance Gillette has been created by Genesis and Fluidra.
Gillette served as the face for automation producer Jandy and the companies that acquired it until it landed with Fluidra. He died last August at 75. During his nearly 50-year industry career, he was one of the first supporters of Genesis.
Fluidra and Genesis will award $2,500 to four recipients per year. The funds are meant to apply to Genesis courses and PHTA certification fees. It is open to any PHTA member who has been employed in the pool/spa industry for at least a year and has never completed a Genesis course.
The first recipients will be recognized at the Genesis MasterMind Summit September in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Applications will be accepted until Feb. 15, 2025. To apply, go to phta.org/gillette-scholarship.
