Two high-end builders have joined together to start a new stainless-steel manufacturing company.
The firm joins the Canada coasts. Gene Brown, president of Valley Pool & Spa in Kelowna, British Columbia, and Canada’s only Platinum Genesis member, has joined with Chris Neal, owner of Toronto-based Elite Pool Design to form the company.
The duo also have signed on with Genesis founder Skip Phillips to contribute designs.
Called Pure Stainless Pools and based in Kelowna, the firm will focus on incorporating high-end design elements into stainless steel pools.
“We’ve been talking about working together for years,” Brown said. “An opportunity came up where we both had some stainless steel vessels that needed to be built, and from there, it just evolved into a working relationship where we’re getting involved in the manufacturing of stainless steel vessels.”
Phillips is expected to design his own series of features and details that can be added to Pure Stainless’ product offerings. The team expects a fair share of its product to include custom pools, to which these features can be added.
The manufacturer plans to incorporate features such as clear acrylic panels and to introduce hydraulic elements unique to stainless steel pools, the founders said.
As for dealer-installers, Brown and Neal said builders will be vetted to become part of the network.
“We’re trying to build the best possible products with some really innovative designs and features that change what’s normal in the pool industry,” Brown said. “But with that, we want to work with people who we know will do their part.”
The company has officially begun doing business. It is starting small, with production currently taking place through a fabricating company in the Kelowna area. As demand increases, the team will explore opening up its own manufacturing plant, Brown and Neal said.
They expect Phillips’ series to be released this spring.
