Seattle-based Olympic Hot Tub will hold its Founders Event throughout the month of October. The annual month-long fund-raising drive is held as a tribute to Alice Cunningham and Blair Osborn, the husband-and-wife team who founded the company.
This year, the retailer will donate the proceeds to three local charities: the Marysville Community Food Bank, the Rainer Valley Food Bank, and the Eloise’s Cooking Pot Food Bank.
“They’re all smaller regional food banks that tackle ending hunger in our region,” said Don Riling, president. “I wanted to choose smaller banks where our ‘give’ would have a much greater impact [as opposed to giving to a] larger organization.”
Olympic will donate $200 for every Hot Spring/Hot Spot spa; $100 for every Freeflow spa; $100 for every Finnleo sauna; and $100 for every Covana automated gazebo sold during the month of October. Finnleo has even agreed to match Olympic's contribution for every Finnleo sauna room purchased (both infrared and traditional saunas). Covana has agreed to match Olympic's donation as well.
In addition to this charitable giving, Olympic will hold a food drive at all of its locations. Customers who donate three items or more will receive a 20% discount on water-care products, accessories and hot tub covers.
The bounty will be divided up among the three food banks.
