Pulliam Pools, one of the nation’s oldest pool builders, celebrated the grand opening of its newly expanded second location.
The Fort Worth, Texas firm cut the ribbon in Hudson Oaks, a rapidly growing community about 30 miles west. Pulliam has maintained a small sales office there for more than a decade, but recently expanded to a full-fledged, 2,900-square-foot showroom.
“Our business has grown so much that we decided we needed a bigger location,” said Debra Smith, president, general manager and co-owner.
The new digs feature a swimming pool with three different interior finishes, water bowls, deck jets, lights, spa and cave. Outdoor kitchens and large samples of decking, travertine and pavers are also on display.
As Smith describes it, the new facility is “western, but modern” with tall ceilings and exposed beams.
Pulliam’s expanded presence in Hudson Oaks made sense for several reasons. Nearby developments are expected to attract an estimated 50,000 families over the next several years, Smith said. Plus, she’s feeling more confident in the economy.
“Reducing the corporate tax rate to where we can actually invest in our businesses more came into play in a big way,” she said. “I felt that the time was right. All indications are we’re going to have a great two years ahead of us.”
Meanwhile, Pulliam is building another facility in Fort Worth as the lease on the original location nears expiration.
“We’ll be able to move and not miss a beat in business,” Smith said.
