Cody Pools, the Austin-based builder that topped the last 12 PSN Top 50 Builders lists, has officially entered the service business with a new acquisition.
Last month, the company purchased A-Quality Pool Service, which has served the Tampa Bay/Zephyrhills area of Florida for more than 20 years.
"This acquisition bolsters our ability to serve our Florida customers in new and different ways" said Vincent Servantez, president of Cody Pools Florida.
This is the first service company Cody has pruchased. It began acquiring other builders in 2018, adding Challenger Pools in Tampa, Fla.; Platinum Pools in Houston, Texas; Phoenix-area company California Pools & Landscape; and Orlando-based American Pools & Spas. Much of this activity came after Cody took on a private equity partner, Main St. Capital, in 2020.
While those operations had begun providing service, it was mostly limited to pools built by one of the Cody-owned brands, said Cody CEO Mike Church. He expects his company to grow in the service space. "We’ll probably start [service operations] up organically," he said. "But if others come up we may buy them too."

Between its various brands, Cody Pools has more than 400 employees and 15 state-of-the-art design centers serving the San Antonio, Houston, Austin, Tampa/St. Petersburg, Phoenix, and Orlando metropolitan areas.
