The filter material manufacturer is donating product to a group striving to make masks more effective for healthcare workers and first responders.

The effort was initiated by Mackenzie Beyerle, Pleatco’s head of customer service and inside sales. The company donates filter media that it says is comparable to a N95 face mask to Sew Blessed, an organization that sews face masks all over Kentucky and Indiana for healthcare workers and first responders.

The rolls of filtration media are used to create 6-by-4-inch filter patches that are inserted in a slit in the masks. The healthcare workers and first responders receive multiple inserts.
