The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance has created committees and is seeking input for the cyclical revision of two standards — one guiding the design and construction of commercial pools, the other guiding the manufacturing of pool and spa suction outlet fittings.
Those who are interested may attend meetings as observers and submit Change Request Forms for consideration by the respective committees. More information can be found phta.org/standards.
Change requests for PHTA/ICC-1, the commercial design/construction standard, will be due by Aug. 14. The suction-fitting standard, PHTA-16, must be approved by the Consumer Product Safety Commission for compliance with the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act.
