The International Pool | Spa | Patio Expo, co-located with Deck Expo, will hold it’s fourth annual Million Dollar Pool Design Challenge.
The annual contest charges participants with designing an outdoor living area for a hypothetical client with a budget of at least $1 million. Organizers provide a profile of the homeowners and their abode.
For the first time, a top prize of $10,000 will be offered, provided by Riverflow Pumps by Current Systems, lead sponsor of the program.
Five finalists, including one professional under 30 years of age, will be selected. Each will receive a complimentary Super Pass to the PSP/Deck Expo, a travel stipend and two-night stay in Las Vegas. They will present their designs during the Million Dollar Pool Finalist session within the conference. Session attendees will vote and determine the top winner during the session.
Each finalist will receive a cash prize. In addition to the $10,000 grand prize, $3,000 will be given for second place, $1,250 for third, $750 for fourth, and $500 for fifth.
Once again, the program will be led by Reid Schindler and Mike Farley, who hold degrees in landscape architecture and more than 50 years of combined pool-design experience.
“This is a great opportunity for designers to get the recognition they deserve,” Schindler said. “We’re looking for designers who can combine the perfect amount of form and function while keeping homeowners’ wants and needs in the forefront of their design.”
Submissions will be accepted until Sept. 18, 2022.
