Rory Alan Stringer, former owner of The Pool Store in Angelina County, Texas, has been charged with 12 felony counts for allegedly failing to complete deliveries and installations of swimming pools. KTRE-TV ABC 9 in Pollok, Texas, reports that he received approximately $120,000 for projects, then closed down his business and never completed the work. He has posted a bond of $250,000.
A civil lawsuit also has been filed against Stringer. The plaintiff claims he paid Stringer more than $81,000 for a pool and accessories. The lawsuit alleges that there were many problems with the pool, ranging from spa jets that don’t work to tile decking around the pool that doesn’t drain properly. The plaintiff claims they needed someone else to repair the damage. The former customer is seeking over $144,000.
