Haviland Enterprises announced the appointment of Mike Karasiewicz as its new CEO.
Karasiewicz has been a key member of the Haviland board of directors since 2015. He will take over for E. Bernard “Bernie” Haviland who is retiring from the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based company his father founded in 1934.
Haviland has been with the pool chemical manufacturer since 1979 and has served as CEO since 2008.
“Mike’s entire career, his life, has led him to this position. His track record in sales, chemical distribution, operations management, and mergers and acquisitions are all attributes we were looking for,” Haviland said of the incoming CEO in a press statement. “Haviland has all the pieces in place to be successful and to grow.”
Karasiewicz is leaving Wilber-Ellis Co., an international marketer and distributor of agricultural products, animal feed and specialty chemicals and ingredients, after 23 years. He most recently served as vice president of branded products.
Sales for Wilbur-Ellis recently topped $3.1 billion.
