The 14th annual National Drowning Prevention Alliance Educational Conference will take place March 11 - 13 in Dallas.

During the conference, a lineup of more than 60 speakers will present on more than 50 topics based on the event's theme “United, We Make a Difference in Water Safety.”

Joining the group is a prestigious lineup of internationally recognized experts who will lead Breakout sessions. Among them, Bob Bowman, USA Olympic swim coach for Michael Phelps; motivational speaker and four-time Australian Olympic swim coach Laurie Lawrence; Justin Sempsrott of Lifeguards Without Borders; and Jill White of Starfish Aquatics Institute.

Based on feedback from last year’s conference, the conference has received a slight makeover. Fresh for 2015 are several new topics of interest presented in a faster, more fast-paced manner. The general session presentations have been expanded with associated breakout sessions for more in-depth discussion and learning. Certified Pool Operator and CPR Awareness and Training classes now are available.

Also on the new roster are special events that will take place beginning this year. One, a networking social and community service project, will allow attendees to participate in a volunteer project with Families United and the Texas water safety task forces. A Swim-a-Thon also has been organized by the NDPA and USA Swimming Foundation, with money raised being split split between NDPA and the local Dallas/Fort Worth communities drowning prevention task force.
