Consumer Confidence Falls Again
After a severe drop in March, the Consumer Confidence Index dipped
again in April to a reading of 62.3. The index has been on a downward trend since the beginning of the year. Lynn Franco, director of The Conference
Board Consumer Research Center, attributed the decline in part to the
rise in gas prices and heightened
inflation expectations.
