Mitch Brooks, the former executive director of the National Plasterers Council, did not stand trial in March.

Brooks, who pleaded not guilty of taking more than $1 million from NPC through fraudulent bookkeeping, was granted another continuance.

He served more than a year in prison, then was released and placed on an electronic monitoring program. If found guilty, he would face a sentenced of up to 90 years.
