The owners of this Florida property asked builder Spiro Custom Pools for a first-class resort-style aquatic landscape suitable for entertainment and relaxation. They wanted to treat it like an extension of the indoors, with areas for lounging, social gatherings, outdoor dining, evening entertainment, and recreational use. They wanted a backyard that was equally beautiful at night and during the day, and they requested the option for a fully enclosed space.
In creating this space, the team also needed to preserve the view of the homeowners’ private lake, for which the home and backyard had been painstakingly elevated to showcase.
The Fort Myers, Fla., builder delivered this amenity-packed enclosed space, in which the team incorporated luxury elements such as vanishing edges, LED lighting, and a sleek rain curtain/water wall hybrid, combined with a putting green and a fire pit area to create a festive, fun mood for entertaining.
The expansive lanai offers views beyond its walls, with the option to open the wall facing the lake. The spillover spa and vanishing-edge pool were elevated so that the water would visually merge with the lake. Vertical elements such as the rain wall were positioned to frame key sightlines rather than obstruct the view.
