The natural stone coping that serves as a “picture-frame” around the pool is carried through to the adjoining 18-inch elevated spa. A 3-foot sheer descent waterfeature gives the illusion of a spillover spa, but in fact, it’s circulating pool water, Tucker explains, adding that he had to customize the feature’s original design to correspond to the pool’s contours.

“Those sheers come straight,” he says, “so we modified that in the field and cut it to fit the radius of the pool on that end, and then we placed stone around that.”
