Blue Hawaiian Names 'Elite Dealers'
Cancun, Mexico, formed the backdrop for Blue Hawaiian Fiberglass Pools’ annual meeting to honor the participants of its 2005 Elite Dealer Promotion. These were individuals who met or exceeded their sales goals last year, and this five-day vacation was the reward. The trip culminated in a special dinner and award presentation. CMP's Chinese Plant is ISO 9001-2000 Certified
Custom Molded Products announced that its Shanghai, China, production facility recently achieved ISO 9001-2000 certification. CMP, a Tyrone, Ga.-based manufacturer of plastic components for the spa, pool and bath industries, stated that the ISO process was conducted by National Quality Assurance Ltd. of the U.K. The internal controls, production processes and quality assurance measures installed by NQA provide a significant advance in CMP’s ability to service its customers and manage its rapidly growing production and logistics operation.
Indoor Pool Blamed in Building Collapse
Chemicals used to treat the water in an indoor pool are the suspects in the collapse of a 20-year-old building in Branson, Mo. Firefighters responded to the Blue Bayou Motel after the building that housed a pool tumbled down. No one was inside, and firefighters were able to turn off propane and electric lines running into the structure. After inspecting the site, Branson Fire Division Chief Ted Martin said that chlorine in the pool water may have caused corrosion, which, in turn, led to the collapse, according to the News-Leader of Springfield, Mo.
Cal Spas Honors Top Dealers
At the Cal Spas Expo, a four-day event in the Ontario (Calif.) Convention Center, the manufacturer singled out its top dealers with awards for excellence in sales. The event included a private concert by Glenn Frey of the Eagles and a motivational talk by former NFL quarterback Joe Montana. But the real stars were the award winners. Pool & Spa Outlet of the Los Angeles area impressed the crowd by garnering the Total Home Resort Award, the Platinum Award and the Cal Enclosures Gazebo Award, thus making it the top dealer of home-resort products. Spa and Leisure of Plymouth, Minn., was honored with the Diamond Award, signifying Cal Spas’ No. 1 spa dealer. More than 500 dealers from around the world competed for top sales honors.
