Marquis Spas Tees Off for Charity
More than $45,000 was raised at the “FORE Children” Golf Tournament July 10. Marquis Spas organized the second annual tourney, held at Illahe Hills Country Club in Salem, Ore. A silent auction and dinner followed the tourney. Three Marquis spas were up for grabs during the event, including the company’s flagship spa, Epic. One hundred percent of golfers’ entry fees directly benefitted Family Building Blocks, a child-abuse prevention program working to break the multigenerational cycle of abuse and neglect. “Marquis is an involved community partner and we focus on programs that enrich the lives of children in Polk and Marion counties,” said Sam Collins, vice president of operations at the Independence, Ore.-based manufacturer. “Teaming up with Family building Blocks is therefore a natural fit. I cannot stress the importance of their work enough.” Last year’s inaugural event raised $35,000 for Family Building Blocks.
