The George L. Throop Company started in 1921 as a building materials company. That company continues today.
In addition to our building materials retail store we are also a concrete producing company. We create unusual and unique concrete mix designs in addition to producing normal concrete mix designs only in unusual locations using our custom designed volumetric mobile concrete portable batch plants.
Our mobile portable batch plants allow us to do small or big jobs without producing unneeded concrete. We work with Rapid Set® cement (hardens in about an hour) used for city streets, freeways and airports where down time is critical. We also produce special and unique cement concrete grouts. We work by a code of ethics. We also pride ourselves in producing concrete in hard-to-reach locations like islands, mountain tops, and on and around the ocean, rivers, lakes and other water and marine locations.
