The designer placed a multi-tiered waterscape toward the back of the yard. The bottom pool is shaped like an ellipse.
“It’s a shape that I am personally very fond of,” Lombardi says. “A pure ellipse is a measured, really geometric form that you can create through a formula. So it isn’t random. But it takes geometry and starts to fray it a little bit and take it to a place that’s become more natural.”
