It is once again time to honor the best, most well-rounded service companies in the pool/spa industry.
Each year, we choose 50 firms that score well in five categories — service revenue; employee management and training; industry involvement; web presence; and community involvement.
This year's is truly a diverse group. As with the industry itself, national consolidators are making their presence known, taking top spots on this list. We have individual franchisees, companies that also work in the construction and retail sectors, as well as independent single-location companies dedicated to maintaining and repairing swimming pools and spas. While residential service makes up the bulk of their work, some of these firms do specialize in commercial service.
The differences in scale can be seen in these companies' earnings: Among this year's Top 50, total service revenues for 2022 ranged from approximately $300,000 to nearly $60 million.
Together they make a significant impact on the industry and pool-owning public, generating $287.57 million in revenues specifically generated from residential pool/spa service. These companies also operate 136 locations around the country, employ 2,622 technicians and serve almost 142,000 residential and commercial clients.
