If participation in the PSN Top 50 indicates confidence, then this year would suggest an industry feeling very comfortable in its ability to continue thriving.

More pool and spa builders than ever applied to rank on the 2023 edition, providing a particularly competitive field. These 50 proved to be the best of the best.

Collectively, these companies built 11,682 pools and earned more than $1.64 billion in 2022. Residential pool/spa construction accounted for nearly $1.37 billion of that. They also employ 4,173 full-time, permanent staff members.

Cody Pools has once again taken the top spot, having only gained strength the past couple years after acquiring two other highly ranking PSN Top 50 Builders — Phoenix-area’s California Pool and Landscape, and Platinum Pools of Houston, Texas.

While revenue serves as a concrete indicator of a company’s performance, it’s not the only sign. These builders were chosen for five aspects of their businesses: residential construction revenue, management and training practices, internet presence, industry participation and community works.

On the following pages, learn more about this year’s Top 50 Builders, along with charts tracking their performance over five years, and the results of a survey of these stand-out builders.
