Users of Houzz may have noticed that some profiles show awards and extra badge icons on the side.
Some of these represent group affiliations. Others, like the Best of Houzz Design and Service badges, are awards given to builder profiles based on likes and reviews.

The design award is based on the popularity of a profile’s photos among Houzz users during the previous year. The more people who use your images in an ideabook, the more likely your profile will be awarded.
Service awards are given out based on customer reviews given to the builder during the year. Each review counts as a nomination for the award. The design and service awards are sent out during the first quarter each year.
