Recently the Australian swimming pool retail company Poolwerx entered the U.S. market. The company is the latest to join a growing number of existing pool firms, particularly those in the service sector, that use the franchise business model. Although the concept still is in the infancy stage in America, some predict the concept eventually will take off with fervor.
Dennis Carson agrees. Since becoming a franchisee three years ago, the president of Premier Pools & Spas of Los Angeles, which ranks No. 42 on the 2015 Top 50 Builders list, says his company has grown a whopping 800 percent.
