The American Psychological Association has awarded five North American employers with the 2015 Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award. Team Horner was one of those companies.

“This is outside confirmation that we are totally committed to teamwork for all the stakeholders in the company – customers, suppliers, employees, the industry and our community” says Bill Kent, Ph.D., board chairman of the 430-employee company.

Team Horner was recognized for its “Color Me Healthy” program by which groups of employees determine which well-being initiatives will be implemented without management direction. Company locations differed in what they chose: Fort Lauderdale staff created a quiet room, on-site yoga and meditation, along with providing stand-up desks and nutrition workshops. Employees in St. Petersburg chose parenting classes, on-site workouts with a trainer and financial management workshops.
