The Northeast Spa & Pool Association has merged two of its chapters — Capital District Chapter has joined Metro New York/New Jersey Chapter. With the merger now complete, there are four NESPA chapters: Connecticut Spa & Pool Association (pale green on map); Metro New York and New Jersey Pool & Spa Association (light green); Long Island Pool & Spa Association (dark green); and Penn Jersey Pool & Spa Association (blue).
“Merging the Metro and Capital chapters will allow us to pull together our resources in terms of both members and volunteer leadership so we can provide more educational and networking opportunities for our members across New York and northern New Jersey,” stated NESPA President John Migliaccio in a press release.
NESPA began reviewing its chapter boundaries in 2011 with the formation of a task force, which looked at how best to serve Capital members to ensure they received the same benefits offered to members throughout NESPA’s region. The task force met with leaders of all five chapters and surveyed members before the final recommendation to merge Capital and Metro chapters was made.
