Composite Fiberglass Swimming Pool maker Leisure Pools and Spas has added a new high-caliber leader to its sales team as it expands its brand palette.

“Leisure Pools has invested our first 20 years building the composite fiberglass marketplace, and we are now at that critical point where we believe we are ready to cross the chasm into exponential growth,” said Co-Founder and CEO David Pain.

Mike Massa joins the company as its chief sales officer/senior vice president of sales. He has had a high profile in the pool/spa industry since 2005, when he began a 14-year tenure as vice president of sales for Big Three pool/spa -products manufacturer Hayward Industries. Before that, he worked at Raynor Garage Doors for 13 years, with his last position being director of sales.

Massa has been brought onboard to strategically drive sales growth for all the company’s brands, including its flagship Leisure Pools, as well as the Imagine Pools label marketed in with POOLCORP, the recently released AVIVA POOLS. He has also been charged with developing its automatic pool covers business, called Integra Pool Covers.

“Mike has led teams of salespeople, including as many as 90, but what impresses us most is that he has done this on a foundation of building long-term trust with partners like those within our dealer networks,” Pain said. “This ability to foster universal growth on unique one-to-one customer service is central to our way of doing business and our vision of being the world’s no. 1 manufacturer of swimming pool products.”

Massa is based in the company’s Knoxville, Tenn., headquarters.
