The Small-Business Optimism Index dipped again in June to 89.2. This is an even smaller number than the three-decade low the index experienced in May. “The top concern of small-business owners today is inflation — for the first time since January 1981,” said William Dunkelberg, NFIB’s chief economist. The percentage of owners citing this as their biggest worry rose to 20 percent, well over the 25-year average of 3 percent.
