Marc Haworth, 41, of Fairless Hills, Pa., recently surrendered amid charges of home improvement fraud, deceptive business practices, theft by deception, and insurance fraud.
He is the owner of Fairless Hills-based Pool and Patio Specialist, and the former proprietor of three other businesses. He stands accused of accepting more than $149,000 in payments for home improvement projects in several Pennsylvania towns without completing the work.
Police records indicate the alleged fraudulent practices date back to 2011 and include projects ranging from pool and deck building to garage remodeling, landscaping and roofing work.
The charges resulted from a three-month investigation by detectives. Records also indicate that Haworth was operating with insurance and licenses that were fraudulently obtained.
