Eighteen pool builders and 12 manufacturers came together for PSN's inaugural Connections event in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The conference, held Sept. 16-18 at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa, offered both groups the opportunity to build or strengthen business relationships through 15-minute, one-on-one meetings, in addition to providing valuable networking experiences and an educational keynote.

The 18 builders were invited based on their status on PSN's award programs, including Top 50 Builders and Masters of Design. Sponsors to the event included BioLab, Concrete Countertop Solutions, Great American Waterfall Co., Hayward, HFS Financial, Pentair, RB Control Systems, S.R. Smith, Summit USA, United Aqua Group and W.R. Meadows.

The keynote was delivered by Scot Hunsaker, founding partner of Ardent Group and former president of aquatics design firm Counsilman-Hunsaker. Hunsaker spoke on the topic of developing a company culture of ownership thinking, outlining his five-step process to help companies cultivate tomorrow's leaders.

"This is the second time I've heard Scot speak," said Ted Anderson, CFO of Pool Environments in Plano, Texas. "He was great -- the information he presented was timely and valuable."
