Can a company offer its customers quality, speed and great prices? Was Red Skelton a business genius?

According to a Forbes piece, Costco may have come as close as any business can to offering all three components of the Value Proposition, through history has said that even great companies only can offer two.

With a crazy return policy, fairly high demands of its vendors, great service and those samples that have everybody standing in line, the company seems to have it figured out.

So do a couple others, such as Southwest Airlines and Zappos. But we see examples of companies that have tried, with less luck.
