(L-R): H&H founder David Hawes and Jeremy Yamaguchi, founder of Cabana.

H&H Pool Services, one of the East Bay’s longest-running pool service companies, has joined Cabana, expanding the company’s presence across Northern California and adding more than five decades of pool service and repair experience to its growing operation.

Founded in the San Francisco East Bay in the early 1970s by David Hawes, H&H has built a long-standing reputation serving residential customers from Newark and Fremont to communities throughout the greater Bay Area.

Hawes has been active in the pool and spa industry for decades, including service as president and chief financial officer of the Independent Pool and Spa Service Association (IPSSA). He has also served as a director of Pool Industry Expo and regularly teaches industry seminars focused on customer service and profitability.

The addition of H&H fits Cabana’s strategy of partnering with established, owner-led pool companies while providing those businesses with additional operational resources and support.

“David has spent decades proving that exceptional quality and attention to detail work, and his team reflects that,” said Jeremy Yamaguchi, founder of Cabana. “Bringing H&H aboard is exactly the kind of partnership we’re built for. Our job now is to support the team and give them room to keep growing.”

Cabana says its strategy centers on professionalizing pool service through improved technology and business tools, technician training and clearer career opportunities for field employees.

For Hawes, preserving the standards that H&H established over its five decades in business was a key consideration in choosing a partner.

“It was important to me that any potential partnership with my business reflected the attention to detail and emphasis on quality workmanship that we have maintained for the last five decades,” Hawes said. “From the very beginning, I felt the Cabana team aligned with my goals of providing professional quality results for my clients.”

The H&H addition gives Cabana a deeper footprint in the Bay Area while continuing its strategy of combining established local pool service businesses with a larger operating platform.
