Master Pools Guild held its spring meeting March 16-19 in San Diego.
The organization unveiled an online learning portal, created with NSPF, to help Master Pools members and their employees attain certifications and earn continuing education units. Several classes are offered in multiple languages. “Working closely with NSPF, which now also includes Genesis, education will continue to be a major focus for the Guild as we strive to embrace new technologies and opportunities offering education in multiple formats and various venues,” said Teri Wiltshire, Master Pools’ special projects coordinator.
In the past year, the group has added four companies, rounding out its roster at 100. New members include Fossil Creek Pools of Spring Branch, Texas; Natures Creations of Santa Fe, N.M.; Regal Pools of Spring, Texas; and Rowan Landscape & Pools in Mt. Airy, Md.
Several design awards were given, with the highest honor — the Grand International Excellence Award — going to Medallion Pool Co. of Asheville, N.C., for the project pictured above.
Once again, the mood at this meeting was positive. “Over the past year, the members seem to be on a continual upswing in the number of pools they are building,” said Dick Covert, the group’s executive director. “… There is a steady increase in purchases. At our meeting, everyone was upbeat and excited about 2016 and the amount of business they already have on the books to build.”
Master Pools Guild’s fall meeting will take place Oct. 16-22 in Bermuda.
