Set in concrete: When the existing deck is 4 or more inches thick, installers may only have to core drill the concrete to accommodate the anchors or sleeves that connect to the lift. Always consult manufacturer’s instructions.
On the level: Installers should check the immediately surrounding deck to make sure it slopes no more than 1 in 48. The ADA outlines the equation to determine how much of the deck must stay within this specification.
