Word of caution to Southern California pool pros: There may be a bear in there.
ABC7 had two reports over the past week about bears seeking relief from soaring temperatures in backyard pools.
Last week, in LA’s San Fernando Valley, animal control officers responded to reports of a roughly 300-pound black bear roaming the neighborhood of Granada Hills.
Footage taken from a helicopter shows the animal enjoying a soak in a pool shortly before it was tranquilized and relocated to the Angeles National Forest.
A mamma bear and two cubs were also recorded splashing in a swimming pool in Pasadena earlier this week. Cellphone footage shows the cubs roughhousing while mamma lounges in the shallow end. This wasn’t their first visit. Homeowners reported having seen the family of three about a month prior.
